At last real progress seems to be on the way regarding a vaccine for food poisoning. As a start there is evidence supporting trials for a Listeria vaccine, an often fatal infection carried in food.
There are real hopes the research can be made transferable to both a more common cause of food poisoning caused by Salmonella and even to tuberculosis!
Of course it *could* be that the research grant is running out and the scientists are touting possibilities in order to encourage the grant body to approve their renewal application… but this might just be the cynic in me 😀
